The conflict is not so easy to understand. Rodriguez confuses himself in thinking he either has to be like his parents or his teachers; it isn't until later that he is mature enough to understand he is not the only scholarship boy out there...he doesn't necessarily sever ties with his parents he just trades on lifestyle for another

Its ridiculous that the Amber Alert, which was implement in the memory of a little girl that really could have used its being to be alive now, is being used in some sick attempt to clear someone's sick, derange ass. It hurts my heart to hear that. It make me think of similar cases and its is really hard to take. May his soul and all those that were in his kind of situation rest in peace.

Is this real?! Nine years old?! Impressive, very impressive. I used to have nightmares that my mother would run into the grocery store quickly to get something and forget to put the car in park (ha ha kyle) and I would roll away not knowing what to do. This took so much courage and bravery - especially since it was on a highway. I even get nervous driving on highways. Do you think he had practice driving before this? How did he reach the petals?
Bet he forgot to use the blinker! Just kidding.

One time I accidentally left my car in drive while running into my house for a second, and when I came hastily back out I saw my car rolling gently across the street. I ran as fast as I could and managed to get one leg inside the car when the car, and I, went crashing through the neighbors fence across the street.(true story) This was only a couple years ago so I really give it up to this 9 year old for being able to compose himself and deal with the situation the way he did. Well done!

I'm with Kyle and Art on this one. I don't think that Lindquist sees the United States as having class mobility. In fact that is part of her argument against what Jack is saying (Jack seems to believe that is only we could get Perot into office, then we'd have a chance at class mobility because there would be jobs...jobs...jobs!), but as Lindquist makes clear, there are gaping holes in Jack's argument(s). Also, similarly, she doesn't see people as choosing their class position; rather, she sees them kind of stuck there to some extent.
